Discovery Cove is the place to go to fulfil that universal fantasy, to swim with dolphins. Become one with the rainforest as you mingle among all manner of wildlife from rays and sharks to otters and marmosets. See the world as they see it. It’s as if you were one of them. The park is well laid-out so that visitors are free to relax on the beach or interact with the animals. Included in the price of admission are a fresh breakfast, lunch, beverages and unlimited snacks as well as rental of all equipment, including snorkel equipment, wetsuits and vests.
Dolphin Interaction
Everyone dreams about swimming with dolphins. Here, under the careful supervision of a professional trainer, you get to enjoy 30 awesome minutes of one-to-one contact with one of Man’s closest relatives. Grab onto a fin and hang on for the ride of your life.
The Grand Reef
Formerly the saltwater reef, the Grand Reef offers different levels of exploration. There are plenty of surprises at the water’s edge, or you can get wet and enjoy the illusion of swimming side-by-side with hungry sharks and gloriously exotic, but poisonous, lionfish (kept safely behind a pane of glass!). Take bridges and paths to the islands of the reef and see what darts out from behind hidden grottos.
Explorers Aviary
Behind the waterfalls and beaches of Discovery Cove lies the Explorer’s Aviary, where hundreds of brightly coloured birds lull you into a feeling of tranquility as you become a part of their melodic birdsong.
Freshwater Oasis
The Freshwater Oasis is Discovery Cove’s latest addition. Discovery by name, discovery by nature, here you are engulfed between the canopy of the rainforest and sparkling clear springs. Frolic with otters and marmosets. Swim, wade or float along water-filled trails teeming with curious life forms that want to make friends with you. The water at Freshwater Oasis is waist deep or lower, allowing the entire family to mingle with the resident fauna and feed the birds. Swim noodles are also provided so you may glide effortlessly through the exhibit.
Sea Venture
Dress like an alien as you don a dive helmet and stroll along the reef floor among the sea creatures. Experience the world of the deep as you come eye-to-eye with sharks and reach out to touch rays and other sea creatures you may not even know existed. Some people describe the experience as a bit like walking on the moon only you are surrounded by fish. As the adventure comes to an end, you find yourself engulfed by schools of fish fluttering their fins. Available as an optional extra, this attraction is incredible value for money at around £43 per adult (minimum age: 10 years old).
Wind-away River
Allow the soothing currents of a tropical river transport you past pristine sandy beaches, beneath cascading waterfalls and dense rainforests. Cruise through a sunken cave. Just lie back and enjoy the scenery.
Serenity Bay
When it’s time to wind down from all that frenetic activity, here is where you can relax on a sandy beach and soak up the rays. Refreshing but not alarmingly so, the temperature is maintained at 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
