SkyWork Airlines, the expanding Swiss regional airline, announced it is increasing the frequency of its best performing scheduled route – London City Airport to Bern to three times daily Monday to Friday with the start of its winter programme. Effective October 29th, it is adding a midday flight (departing Bern at 1240 and London City at 1355) to the established morning and evening flights. Furthermore, the airline will be working with some established carriers at London City with a view to adding connecting flights in both the UK & Ireland.
The addition of a third Monday to Friday frequency follows a strong year on the route which saw the independently owned carrier handle over 11,160 passengers. Speaking at the Swiss Embassy in London recently to celebrate the first anniversary on the route, H.E. Mr. Anton Thalmann, Ambassador of Switzerland to the United Kingdom praised SkyWork Airlines’ outstanding friendly and punctual service. “Flying to Bern in the heart of Switzerland is a very pleasurable experience and this link is extremely valuable for economic development,” he said.
SkyWork Airlines CEO Tomislav Lang told TravelPlus “We are delighted to be taking the London route to three times daily, Monday to Friday. There was some cynicism when we first arrived on the route, especially as we were flying alongside the bigger, more well-known carriers, but we have received the warmest welcome and have won terrific loyalty for our services. Our motto is Your Personal Way to Fly and business and leisure travellers have voted with their feet.”
Croatian-born Tomislav also announced that SkyWork is starting services to the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The Bern-based carrier is introducing twice-weekly flights to Zagreb from Bern at the start of its winter programme.
SkyWork Airlines is progressing well with its Hotel Arranging Transfers Programme. Fourteen three, four or five star hotels are now participating in this programme which gives passengers the flexibility to book a hotel accommodation and airport transfers to and from a range of major resorts throughout the Bernese Oberland via www.flyskywork.com and each of the participating hotel’s websites.
New airport bus arrangements are now operating between Bern-Belp airport and Belp station every thirty minutes. This offers connections to Bern city centre and to Rubigen and Munsingen stations hourly for onward connections to Thun, Spiez and Interlaken making it the quickest route to the Bernese Oberland from the airport.
