What a concept this is, exclusive to The Aurora Zone here in the UK, these bubbles represent the absolute pinnacle in the increasingly sophisticated search for the Northern Lights.
Essentially, the Aurora Bubble brings the Arctic wilderness and the night sky into the comfort of your own bedroom. Each bubble has a heated bedroom with a large north facing window allowing you to gaze at the Arctic firmament from the comfort of your own bed!! Folks, this is really doing it in style.
The bubbles are located in an area of minimal light pollution but within walking distance of the hotel should you wish to return to your room during the night. We can’t imagine that you will however because there is even a discreet, compostable toilet which means there is no need whatsoever to leave your comfortable bubble during the night.
Holidays to see the northern lights in Finnish Lapland are now even more spectacular, with the creation of three ‘Aurora Bubbles’ by the Nellim Wilderness Hotel in Nellim. Located 45 minutes away from the nearest town, Nellim’s remote location means there is virtually no light pollution to obscure the view of the night sky. The ‘Aurora Bubbles’ are heated tents with transparent ‘bubbles’ over the bedheads, providing a perfect, cosy base to have unobstructed views of the magical northern lights. Departures on 7 November for the four day Nellim Autumn Lights over Lake Inari package are from £1345 per person, based on two people sharing. Price includes flights.
