Distinguished guests, travel agents and business associates gathered last night to celebrate the launch of the first ever all Club Class Hong Kong Airlines service between London and Hong Kong.
Held at Searcys Club, The Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe, the 250 guests at the cocktail reception were greeted with entertainment from Fusion a Chinese/British string quartet and stunning views over the City of London and beyond.
Hong Kong Airlines President, Yang Jian Hong, and General Manager UK, Gerard Clarke welcomed guests and outlined the significance of the new route. VIP guests included Michelin star chef Jason Atherton, who has created the in-flight menu for the airline.

The launch signifies a new generation of luxury travel, offering customers great flexibility to and from the major commercial and leisure destinations in and across China, Japan and Southeast Asia.”
Hong Kong Airlines’ first ever all Club Class service from Hong Kong to London touched down at London Gatwick at 05.55 GMT on Thursday 08 March to an official welcome by Chief Executive London Gatwick Airport, Stewart Wingate, before returning from London to Hong Kong at 21.30 GMT.
The daily non-stop flights will be operated by three brand new Airbus A330-200s featuring a unique all Club Class seating configuration of 116 seats. Each of these ultra-modern aircraft will showcase two premium cabins: ‘Club Premier’ and ‘Club Classic’.
