After the successful launch of TAP Portugal’s new Manchester service last year the airline is now commencing daily flights to Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, commencing on 28th October 2012. The airline will run seven non-stop flights a week offering full services in business and economy class.
TAP Portugal is Manchester’s only scheduled carrier to offer direct services to Lisbon. The daily flight will leave Manchester at 11:10am providing great connections to Luanda, Dakar, Bissau and Sal Island via Lisbon.
UK Sales Manager José Moreira told TravelPlus: “Having successfully launched our new service last Summer, we are very happy with the results to date. We will have a daily flight this Winter and intend to add further frequencies next Summer to reflect the increased demand we are experiencing not only to Portugal but beyond to Brazil and Africa.”
The full service airline offers one piece of baggage or 23kgs free of charge in economy and up to two pieces of 32kgs bags in Business, as well as free on-board beverages, meals, seat selection, online and mobile check-in, seat reservations and no booking fee for debit cards.
Ken O’Toole, Chief Commercial Officer for Manchester Airports Group said: “TAP Portugal is one of out newest airlines at Manchester and it is great news to have them go to a daily service. This will not only give passengers access to Portugal’s capital city but TAP are also one of the largest carriers of passengers to South America from Europe and that opens even more destinations to our customer base in the North West.”
The new service has also allowed TAP Portugal to extend its flight offerings from other UK departure points to long haul destinations like New York, Miami, Dakar, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, with connections to other South American cities on flights operated by code-share partners.
