Budapest Airport has announced that Czech Airlines will increase the frequency on the popular Budapest-Prague route with the start of the winter timetable on October 28. The airline is adding ten new weekly frequencies increasing from 21 return flights per week dispatched in Winter 2011/12 to 31 for the coming season. All flights will be operated by Czech Airlines’ turboprops ATR72-500 or ATR 42-500 aircraft with 64 and 48 sets respectively.
The Budapest-Prague route commemorated its 75th anniversary earlier this year and in testimony to the popularity of the link between the capital cities of Hungary and the Czech Republic, Czech Airlines will be operating the route five times daily, carrying an anticipated almost 80,000 passengers a year.
Kam Jandu, Budapest Airport’s Director of Aviation told TravelPlus: “We are delighted with Czech Airlines‘ increased capacity on the Budapest-Prague route. The 75th anniversary celebrated earlier this year is a phenomenal milestone and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship into the future, providing travellers from both cities with this much needed connection.“
Lead in fares for Budapest-Prague start from just 24500HUF (approx. £70 or €87) one way.
