Emirates has unveiled the recent upgrade of Emirates’ Chauffeur-drive service at Manchester Airport.
The development involves the creation of a dedicated pick up area in front of the Terminal 1 entrance – Emirates is the only airline operating from Manchester Airport to offer this service. This service replaces the previous offering which involved vehicles parking within the Terminal 1 arrivals multi-storey car park.
Emirates passengers will walk no further than 100 yards to a dedicated parking area located immediately outside the entrance, where the impressive fleet of new Mercedes vehicles will wait. There will now be up to 52 bays available for the vehicles; enough room to support an A380.
The Chauffeur-drive service is handled by local company PCS (Professional Chauffeur Services). Details of the fleet serving Emirates’ customers are:
· Mercedes E Class saloon and estate
· Mercedes S Class, long wheel base
· Mercedes Viano, extra-long wheel base, 7 passenger seat
All vehicles are equipped with leather seats, air conditioning/climate control, satellite navigation as well as a multitude of standard safety systems throughout. The Mercedes S Classes, the flagship of the Mercedes range, include reclining seats and privacy glass. Certain models are also equipped with rear entertainment systems.
Emirates’ UK VP, Laurie Berryman, told TravelPlus “The impressive upgrade of Emirates’ Chauffeur-drive service at Manchester Airport will add a touch of luxury and relaxation to our First Class and Business Class passengers’ journey, whether on the final leg or just the start of their travel with Emirates.
As well as this improved Chauffeur-drive service, on 1st September 2012 Emirates upgraded the evening service from Manchester from a two class Boeing 777-300ER to a three class Boeing 777-300ER, meaning all three daily flights out of Manchester now offer First Class.
