Alitalia will launch non-stop flights between Rome and Mexico City on June 16, 2016 to increase its international network. “The new Alitalia service will help commerce and also develop tourism between Italy and Mexico”, commented Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, Alitalia’s Chairman. “This new flight will add to a new service in May to Santiago and complement our existing routes to Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. We aim to become the leading air carrier on routes to Latin America, an important area for Italy and one where we see growth and opportunity both in business and in leisure”.
Flights to Mexico City will be operated three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
The Alitalia flight for Mexico City will take off at 10.25 am from Rome Fiumicino and land in Mexico City at 4.45 pm (local time). Flights from Mexico City will depart at 11.30 pm (local time) to arrive at Rome airport at 6.35 pm on the following day. The flight schedule will allow Alitalia customers travelling to Mexico from 50 Italian, European, Middle East and North African cities through connections at Alitalia’s Rome Fiumicino hub.
The service will be operated using a 293-seat Boeing 777 aircraft, the flagship of the Alitalia fleet, arranged in three class service: business, premium economy and economy. Passenger will enjoy cabin interiors fully refurbished and new connectivity service for phone calls, Internet and email.
